Woodsball VS Speedball Paintball Guns
Mike released another video this week covering the heavy debate of woodsball versus speedball paintball markers. To me it's all about choosing a versatile marker, which is a point he does make. However, if you are the type of player that enjoys one variant over the other then go for the marker that appeals more to you. You don't necessarily have to own a marker for each type of paintball variant, but carrying a paintball gun worthy for military training does add a certain feel to woodsball play. In the end though, if your in front of the counter at your local paintball shop and you cannot decide on which marker to get, keep things simple and buy the marker that matches you, and don't worry if its considered a speedball or woodsball marker.

This video helped me a lot in choosing my new gun. I love woodsball more than speedball but I still like to get into speedball so getting a gun that is versatile is important cause ill be using it for a while for both. Probably gonna start with a invert mini and later down the line get a milsim specifically for scenario or woodsball, thinking on the TM 7. Anyways great video, thanks man.
Great Video. I played this week senario game. We were 2 teams of 8. Our team all had tipmans and the other team had 4 speedballs guns. They kicked a very experienced teams bud. I had doubts what i should purchase next but after this video i have no doubt. thanks
You need to figure out what youre tlking about before you start saying tippman’s are no good in xball. I will light you up any day on an xball field with my alpha black no doubt in my mind.
As much as I would like to agree with you Joshua, it just isn’t practical to play xball with a “slower” marker.
And believe me, I’m with you, I LOVE to see slower markers in the hand of talent kick the shit out of kids toting angels bought by “mommy and daddy.”
But here it is… I used to believe I could play with a pump on a speedball field, but time proved that it wasn’t practical. Time after time I would be stuck behind a bunker, and the only thing that would give me the chance to get out was a snapped grouping of paintballs.
A FAST grouping of paintballs is something a pump cannot do.
Now lets think of xball, a game that is WAY faster than speedball.
If a pump is not good enough for a true speedball match, then a standard tippmann is not fast enough for xball.
Think of it this way… if you could shoot the wings off of a fly with a pump, why not shoot the wings off a fly with a fully automatic paintball gun-because that’s what they use in xball.
Your alpha black may feel fast enough right now, but step on an xball field and play a couple games. I think you’ll come to realize a few things.
Another thing…
Your only as good as your team. If you have a team that can play well together, one that can coordinate shooting and moving, then a team full of alpha blacks might do well.
BUT, just take a moment and think what your team could do with faster paintball guns.
Its an interesting thought.
