Some Tips For Starting a Paintball Field
Today I was asked for some input on a field I had ran in previous years, and it reminded me how valuable and important it is to share knowledge from your own experiences with others. Its nice to get some help, so if you are interested in starting your own paintball business, or more particularly a paintball field, here are a couple of pointers.
Rentals
The type of paintball rentals you will be using goes hand in hand with how many employees you wish to higher. If i told you that certain types of paintball gear can reduce the amount of employees you need would you believe me? Well you should, because the right rental gear allowed me to run a paintball field with just two people.
Paintballs
The type of paint your field sells and shoots is of utmost importance. If you think you can get by with the cheapest of paintballs then you wont be in business long. This was one of the first lessons we learned, and definitely one of the most important. You would think that the cheaper the paint the more profit you make, I'm here to tell you... think again.
Air
You'll need to find a RELIABLE source for getting your co2. You can always purchase an air compressor for HPA tanks, but one thing you probably will not be able to afford, unless you have bookoo bucks, is a co2 system. You will need to rent tanks. If you can't find a source that delivers when you need it then say goodbye to potential customers.
Target Customers
What is your fields main target? Believe it or not, there are types of paintball players that are much more profitable than others. I like to call them the golden guns. They not only make you more, but they also are easier going, and generally are less of a hassle.
These are just some of the points I covered, there are many more. Topics like zoning licenses, field setup, and marketing are all subjects that could easily fill hundreds more articles.
