Paintball Gear Bags – 3 Things to Look For, & 1 You Never Thought To…
Get organized with a paintball gear bag! Now more than ever you can find gear bags in just about any size, color, print and design. Want one in urban camo? You got it! Purple stripes? OK! It seems every paintball company is making their own gear bags, giving you many options. Of those options, here are the 3 things you should be looking for when trying to find the perfect bag for you.
1. Is it Big Enough?
If you have a week long scenario you plan on heading off too, then having a MEGA sized gear bag is a must. You want one that is plenty big enough to transport your primary marker, backups, tanks, hopper, mask, parts, tools, and any other gear you plan on bringing. The same thing goes for the competitive speedballer that plans on traveling to events. Everything is much easier when you have all your gear in one neatly organized pack.
Additionally, the general rule for size of a gear bag is it is better to have too much room than not enough. Cramming a paintball mask next to a couple tanks is trouble waiting to happen, so go the safe route and get a bag with a ton of padding, and a ton of space.
2. Is it Durable Enough?
If you don't plan on going far with your bag, and don't plan on being rough with it, then having a super durable bag isn't exactly necessary. However, if your the player that treks through the woods to get to that off-the-path field, or better yet, you tend to toss your stuff around, then do yourself a favor and get a bag that's built to last.
Another thing to consider as far as durability goes, is whether the bag has been proofed for the elements. That way, at least when the weather isn't cooperating your gear will be safe and sound.
3. How Transportable is it?
The farther you have to walk to get to your playing area, the harder that walk will be if your bag is bulky and cumbersome. Some bags have travel wheels and a convenient handle for easy rolling. If you have a ton of gear that is pretty heavy, travel wheels are a must!
