Empire Invert Mini Review

May 29, 2008

invert miniThe Mini is one of the few markers out today that I would seriously consider buying. Sure, some people will argue that it is dinky in size, but you know what, when it comes to playing paintball, size does matter... but not in the way most think.

Can you imagine playing against a team of small agile midgets? Nope, I can't and thats probably why I have nightmares about it. There isn't much science too it, just common sense, the smaller the marker the smaller the target it will be for opposing players. Smaller target means, you got it, harder to hit.

The specs of the mini are nothing short of impressive, first it weighs in at only 1.99 lbs including the barrel, ASA, battery, and regulator. Secondly you are getting all of the below for a great price, $324.95 at ActionVillage.com.
Invert Mini

  • Weighs in at 1.99 lbs including barrel, ASA, 9 volt battery, and regulator, making it one of the lightest and tightest electronic markers available
  • Outstanding velocity consistency
  • Break beam anti-chop eyes standard
  • Multi-mode (NXL, PSP, NPPL, and Millennium) firing capability with easy "tournament lockout"
  • Clamping feed neck
  • Takes autococker barrel threads
  • No hoses to crimp or break
  • Low pressure
  • 20+ BPS
  • One year limited warranty through KEE Action Sports

Granted, you could buy a Proto SLG for $200, but what you are not getting with the Proto is a simple operating and lightweight marker. If you buy a Proto SLG your getting a gun that has a strong emphasis on consistency, but at what cost? At the cost of more parts and complexity, which also means you are getting a marker that will require much more maintenance than a Mini.

If you are anything like me, then you understand the need for low maintanance markers. I've had my fill of tinkering, and frankly it got old, which is one of the reasons why I now own and shoot an ICE Epic. If I were ever to buy an electronic marker, which may be soon if I decide to get back into tournament paintball, it would be an Invert Mini.

To balance this review, heres an outside opinion on the Invert Mini from TechPb, a great channel on YouTube that every paintballer should subscribe too.
