The War Machine Assault 80 was a unique paintball marker - unique in that the barrel moved when it shot.

Its History - Misunderstood

Back in early 2000's when it was being sold, many paintballers were turned off by this "different" looking paintball marker. However, those that could care less about looks and cared more about performance, took note of the War Machine Assault 80. Many found that its spool valve operation, and 80psi operating pressure made it unbelievably efficient.

Its a shame more players didn't get past its looks...

The War Machine Assault 80 is just an example of how a great marker can slip through the ever growing "popularity" filter many paintballers have.

In fact, I kept one around just to remind myself how looks and popularity do NOT always determine the quality of the product.

Take Smart Parts for example... they are popular AND pieces of shit. In fact, they have been responsible for closing out many great names in paintball (Action Markers and AKA for example), all so they could continue pushing crap markers like the ION.

The Assault 80 was truly a great paintball marker. It was affordable (priced at just $180), efficient, and despite its looks - felt great in the hands. Although misunderstood, the WM A-80 is a great reminder of how a majority of shallow preferences can drown out quality craftsmanship.

If you would like to own a piece of history, you can find this marker up for sale on eBay. I am downsizing my collection and my WM A-80 just so happens to be one of the markers that must find a new home. If you missed out on owning one before, here's your chance.

3 Places You Can Find Cheap Used Paintball Guns

All in all there are three places you should look at when you are looking into buying a used paintball gun, especially if you want one for cheap.

I put them in order from best place to next best option, so you can either take my opinion or go by your preference.

eBay - From my experience, the best place to buy cheap used paintball guns is hands down eBay. It's fast, easy, and full of great deals. Often you can find bundles of used paintball guns, which present an opportunity to get a primary and secondary/backup paintball gun in one cheap auction. I've even found some packages for so cheap that I was able to break it up and re-list the items separately on eBay for profit. That reason alone proves that eBay should always be your first stop when looking for cheap used paintball guns.

Craigslist - You'd be surprised what you can find on Craigslist, especially in your local area. If you live in a major city you can pretty much bet that someone is trying to sell their paintball gun on Craigslist. The big thing here is you should always talk to the person over the phone to validate the listing and guarantee your buck is going to truly get you a used paintball gun. Aside from that it's still a great place to look, and even if you live in a small town you can often find listings in the nearest city, some of which the owner may be willing to ship to you.

Paintball Forums - I used to try to sell and buy my gear on forums, but the constant bickering and flaming took away from it and made it not as worthwhile as using eBay or Craigslist. Those reasons though are still not enough to keep good deals for used paintball guns from being listed, so lastly you should check paintball forums like pbnation, pbjunkie, pbreview and others for sweet deals on used paintball guns.

Buying used paintball guns can have its drawbacks, many of which deal with the past owner and how well the paintball gun was taken care of. However, if you can find a paintball gun that was used with care you can definitely save a pretty penny.

Buying used paintball guns is something that should be done more often. Too many times paintballers think they need to buy a new paintball gun to get the most out of it, when behind the scenes a paintballer who just bought the new gun you want to buy is selling his after shooting it a couple of times. Why are they selling it? Most of the time its because they set their eyes on a new paintball gun, or they just plain can't afford to play paintball.

With all of the new paintball guns that come out monthly its no WONDER why so many are available for sale! Paintball guns that have been used NOW typically lose 1/3 to 1/2 of their value because paintballers today want the next best thing. It used to be Tippmann 98's were worth their weight in gold for years, but now that Tippmann has come out with new paintball guns like the X7 and A5, they have since lost value.

So in summary you should buy used paintball guns. It is plenty ok to buy one, you will not only get it for cheap, but chances are you will get a lightly used paintball gun that might as well be new.

You know what time it is. Its that time of year thousands of paintballers throw up their used paintball guns for sale online and the time when thousands of parents browse the internet looking for the perfect paintball gun for the paintballer in their family. If you want to buy a used gun, or sell your used guns then nows the time.

eBay is hands down the best place to buy used paintball guns. Of course you can go to a paintball forum and check out the b/s/t section, but the haggling and waiting for a response just isn't worth it in my opinion, especialy when the the seller is an idiot.

On eBay you can find just about every kind of used paintball gun, even guns that have been out of production for years. A while back I got lucky and bought a vintage ICD Desert Fox for $200. It came with a slew of stuff that I ended up relisting on eBay and selling for $260, making me a clean $60 profit and a free paintball gun. Its deals like those that keep me coming back to eBay to buy used paintball guns.
